Whoa! Where did the past two months go? Geez...
Its been awhile really that i have not post on this health blog of mine. Its not that i abandoned it (almost), its just that i got too busy with my regular work. I guess thats always been a reason for a big Dad who works for his family...family alone...not for himself...so need to work hard although not hardly working which i'm proud of.
Anyways, i just want to share an experienced of mine just a week ago with regard to my blog title above - "How to fight off flu". Yup! I just had a flu just last week and thank God that it won't last for days which is usually last a week when i had one. Whew!
We're all too familiar with the aches and pains that come with the common flu. Here are some tips that helps to avoid those sneezing and wheezing for everybody to know:
Keep an antihistamine available in medicine cabinet
Antihistamin may be helpful if you have drainage, which is either a runny nose, post-nasal drip, or itchy watery eyes. If none in your medicine cabinet, you may get it in any drug store without prescription. But be aware that most over the counter (OTC) antihistamine often make people drowsy and also make secretions thick, which can be a problem for people with asthma. Ask your Medical Doctor which meds are best for you.
Pop an OTC painkiller
Once you already have a flu, pop an OTC painkiller or ask your doctor for a painkiller prescription. which will make aches feel less severe. Get as much rest as you can, drink liquids to stay hydrated, and eat right to keep your immune system in fighting form.
If OTC's not for you, try using salt water or a saline solution to clear congestion. Taking hot, steamy showers can also help clear your nasal passages.
The above tips are just basic. But it helped me when i had flu just last week. I was just wondering that if i never had flu last week, maybe i might not think of posting into this blog again. But, it won't get that far i guess?
